Product-Specific Questions

Our threads are naturally hand-dyed, which means each skein has unique variations and depth of colour. Unlike synthetic dyes, our threads have a natural, artisanal quality that adds a special touch to your projects.

While we can’t guarantee an exact colour match due to the nature of natural dyes, we’re happy to discuss custom dyeing options. Please reach out with your ideas, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.

Natural dyes can sometimes bleed slightly, especially on the first wash. We recommend hand washing your project if necessary in cold water and drying it flat to minimize any colour transfer.

Due to the variability of natural dyes, exact colour replication is challenging, and each batch may vary slightly. If you need a larger quantity of a specific colour, we recommend ordering enough for your entire project at once.

Variations in colour are a natural result of the dyeing process, and factors like lighting and monitor settings can affect how colours appear online. These variations add to the uniqueness of each skein.

We offer a range of fabric counts, including 14, 16, 18, and 20 count Aida, 28, 32, 36, and 40 count linen, and 27 count Linda evenweave.

The fabric count determines the size of your stitches. Higher counts create more detailed, smaller stitches, while lower counts are easier to work with. Beginners might prefer 14 count Aida, while experienced stitchers may opt for 32 or 36 count linen.

We offer fabric in fat quarters (18" x 21" for Aida and 18" x 27" for linen and Linda evenweave). Please contact us if you need a larger piece. Note that the fabric is cut to size prior to serging and dyeing.

Linen: Natural with a slightly uneven weave, giving it a traditional look.

Aida: Structured fabric with clearly defined holes, ideal for beginners.

Linda Evenweave: Smooth, uniform weave, offering a balance between the ease of Aida and the texture of linen.

To calculate the fabric size needed, divide the design’s stitch count by the fabric count and add extra inches for framing or finishing. We’re happy to help with calculations if needed.

Our fabrics are naturally hand-dyed, so there may be slight variations in colour between batches. These unique variations contribute to the fabric’s artisanal quality.

Yes, we recommend hand washing your fabric if necessary in cold water with a mild detergent and drying it flat. This helps preserve the color and texture, ensuring your project stays beautiful.

Care and Usage

Absolutely! Our products are perfect for both beginners and experienced crafters. We offer thread packs to help you get started, showcasing how the colours can work together in a project.

To care for your naturally dyed items, hand wash if necessary in cold water with a mild detergent and lay them flat to dry. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, as this can cause colors to fade over time.

Store your threads and fabrics in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. You can also keep them in breathable storage containers or acid-free bags to prevent dust and dirt from settling on them.

Our threads and fabrics are designed to work beautifully with a variety of brands and materials. However, the unique nature of natural dyes means that colour matching may not be exact. We recommend testing a small area if you're combining them with other products.
